For those who are considering or planning on attending our upcoming meeting (May 29th at the State Library in Columbus) but don’t receive travel compensation from their institution, Ohio GODORT is offering mileage reimbursement. If interested, please contact Roger Kosson (kossonr@denison.edu).

The Spring Meeting of GODORT of Ohio will take place on Friday, May 29th at the State Library of Ohio. The agenda has been posted.
Denison University is seeking a Library Associate III to work with serials and government documents. This position will work under the supervision of the Discovery Librarian and the Social Sciences Liaison Librarian to: ensure that serials and government documents are received and processed in a timely manner; perform authority work and create records for information resources in all formats; upgrade existing cataloging; link bibliographic records; make corrections; process gifts; monitor inventory, including de-acquisition; ensure the highest level of accuracy. Additionally, the successful candidate may help with the upkeep of our local discovery layer, Summon. Must be able to perform functions of Library Associate I and II; may be assigned to perform advanced technical duties in library functions including, but not limited to, cataloging, interlibrary loan/resource-sharing, acquisitions, collection development, reserves, serials or reference.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of college, or, equivalent combination of college and work experience are required.
A minimum of two years previous library experience as a staff employee using OCLC, OhioLINK and the Innovative Interfaces or comparable systems is required. Good organizational skills, experience handling funds and budgets, ability to follow through on problems and good oral and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to learn and adapt to a variety of software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree, familiarity with at least one non-English language, and 3-5 years of work experience as a library staff member. Skill with spreadsheets, some basic knowledge of financial accounting concepts, proficiency with numbers and details.
